Testimonials
We are grateful to the families who have trusted Family Avenues to support them. Below are some comments from parents who have worked with us through consultations, guidance sessions and assessments.
Their feedback reflects the experiences of families navigating a wide range of challenges, including neurodivergence, school difficulties and family relationships.
“Jo was brilliant, very respectful and non-judgemental. What we found helpful was being able to speak at length and go over the history of our situation with someone unconnected to us, impartial. To get a fresh perspective.”
— Michelle (Family Avenues Call) “I felt that Paula had real life understanding of parenting a child with different needs which helps when being open and honest because the fear of judgment is reduced. ”
In the last few months I found myself in a situation that became very frightening and I felt alone and honestly at times terrified. My son started not wanting to go to school in a way that was becoming unmanageable. We were both suffering because of pressure from school regarding attendance. As a mother the pressure and fear started to affect my mental health and my son seemed to just be surviving . That’s when I reached out to family avenues.
From the first phone call I had a weight was lifted and my perspective changed. I was met with such care, deep understanding and women who were experienced. I immediately felt that I was not alone. I was heard. I was guided. I was informed. That phone-call meant that I was able to completely change how I showed up for my son. With knowledge and support I was able to see our home situation through a completely different lens and I will be forever grateful for this.
Since then, family avenues have been my main source of support. They have provided me with genuine heartfelt listening ears, no judgement and gentle guidance. I now have tools to try and a written report for both my family and for the school. When the world is still so uneducated about the needs of a neuro divergent family, family avenues have been a lifeline. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do and for what you have done for my family.
— Anon (Family Avenues Call) — Catherine (Family Avenues Call) “The webinar was fabulous, it kept me engaged and interested. I really liked the red flags/green flags section. Totally worth the money”
— Lisa (Home Visits to Autistic Families: Professionals Guide)“Before my call with Louise, I was really struggling to get the support from school that my daughter needed. Whilst she has a recent Autism diagnosis, the school did not seem to take her needs into consideration and focussed instead on her behaviours and punishing her. Since speaking with Louise, I’ve been able to advocate for her at school and be clear what her needs are and what support she needs in school. This has made such a difference to her. I’ve also seen a huge improvement in her anxiety at home thanks to the strategies that Louise suggested. ”.
— Lindsey, Family Avenues Call“This guide felt like a reassuring hand to hold. It approaches neurodivergence with zero judgement, whilst offering practical, easy to implement ideas that truly empower grandparents”.
— Katie, Grandparents and Extended Family Guide“I just read your blog post on the power of no. I found it so helpful - brilliant advice and it made me feel like I was listening to a friend”.
